Baboons Film Festival News (25/10/2010):

Since Tropfest, Baboons has screened in about a dozen other festivals. Recently, it picked up a couple more awards. First was the Australian Teacher's of Media (ATOM) Awards, where it was nominated for Best Music Video and Best Animation. It took out Best Music Vid, so it was well worth the trip to Melbourne to attend the ceremony. Then we had some more success locally in November, taking out a gold award at the Australian Cinematographers Society (ACS) Awards for SA & WA. This qualifies the film for the national awards, also to be held in Adelaide next April. Meanwhile, it's been enjoying a good run in Spike and Mike's Festival of Animation touring around the world, and was also screened at the prestigious Ottawa International Animation Festival in October.

Baboons takes 2nd Place at Tropfest (28/02/2010):

'My Neighbourhood has been overrun by Baboons' had a huge premiere on the 21st of February as part of Tropfest 2010. It was viewed by a massive crowd of 75,000ish at the domain in Sydney, and by many more all around Australia at the live venues and on TV.

We picked up 2nd Prize and Best Original Score went to The Dairy Brothers for writing the song.

Prepare to be overrun by Baboons! (02/10/2009):

We have just commenced shooting our new short film "My Neighbourhood has been overrun by Baboons". After months of pre-production, including making a whole gang of baboons and a huge neighbourhood set for them to wreak havoc on, we are now starting to bring them alive through the magic of stop-motion animation. The film is due to be finished by mid December with its premiere early in the new year. Stay tuned to the GooRoo website for more news and sneak peaks of what's to come.

GooRoo Animation selected for Digitopia (04/06/2009):

GooRoo Animation have been selected as one of the two teams in this year's Animation Initiative run by the Media Resource Centre in Adelaide. We will be given funding and support to complete a short stop-motion animated film. The film will be based on the song "My Neighbourhood has been overrun by Baboons" by Adelaide band The Dairy Brothers. GooRoo Animation last worked together with The Dairy Brothers five years ago, creating a film clip to their song "Never gonna be a Star".
