Animal Instincts wins 20th award (23/11/2008): |
Over the last few months we have been constantly surprised as Animal Instincts continues to pick up awards in film festivals. It's now reached another milestone, winning its 20th award by taking out 'Best Animated Film' at the Victorian Independent Film Festival. It has now screened in 40 film festivals all over the world, including Japan, Russia, England, South Africa, Brazil, Canada, USA, New Zealand and of course Australia. The film has proven to be a crowd favourite across the globe, winning numerous audience choice awards. It's simple plot with no dialog and plenty of comical gags has worked a charm, getting it screened in many non-english speaking countries, with the humour able to transcend all cultural and language barriers. The range of awards we've recieved are very encouraging for us as film makers. They confirm that Animal Instincts is a solid film in technical areas such as animation, sound and special effects as well as being a great story. At the end of the day, we're just happy so many people are able to see our film on the big screen through these festivals.

Animal Instincts to be converted into 3D (11/9/2008): |
Animal Instincts has been selected as one of a group of award-winning short films being converted into 3D by the 3D Film Factory. This will make it one of the first films ever to be converted from 2D to full stereoscopic 3D, using state-of-the-art technology. The film is currently going through the tedious process of being converted ready for worldwide distribution in early 2009. The short films selected in the initial group are listed here. They will be shown as a group in many of the new 3D cinemas opening across the US, to demonstrate the potential of 3D films. GooRoo Animation are excited to be at the forefront of what many are predicting to be the future of theatrical exhibition. With 3D TV channels on the rise in countries like Japan, it could well be the future of television too. Keep an eye on our site for release dates and where to see it, coming soon.
